  • Former President Donald Trump lashed out on his daughter and others on social media following the January 6 Committee’s first public hearing.

On Friday, Donald Trump posted on his social media platform Truth Social: “Ivanka Trump was not involved in looking at, or studying, Election results. She had long since checked out and was, in my opinion, only trying to be respectful to Bill Barr and his position as Attorney General (he sucked!).”

Trump’s public attack on his daughter comes in response to recorded testimonies by Ivanka Trump, Bill Barr, and other Trump advisors to the House January 6th Select Committee. These interviews were played during the committee’s first public hearing on Thursday, June 9.

In his testimony, Barr indicated that the former president’s claims of election fraud in the 2020 presidential election were false. Ivanka Trump expressed agreement with Barr’s statements in her testimony. “I respect Attorney General Barr so I accepted what he was saying,” she said to the committee.

Donald Trump also took to Truth Social with numerous posts bombarding Barr, his other former aides who testified, and committee Vice Chair Liz Cheney.

The second January 6 Committee hearing will take place on Monday, June 13, at 10 a.m. ET.
